Target Group: Issuers, Deutsche Börse Capital Market Partner

In November 2025, the European Commission introduced the Digital Omnibus Package. The aim of this package is to simplify various technology-related laws at the EU level and to reduce the associated administrative burden for companies. The European Parliament is currently reviewing the proposal and has already suggested initial amendments.

In our webinar, we will provide a concise overview of what the package contains—including the proposed amendments to the GDPR, the AI Act, and the NIS-2 Directive. We will focus on the adjustments that are expected to be particularly relevant for businesses. Furthermore, we will shed light on how the political process is evolving, as a growing reluctance is noticeable in both the Parliament and the Member States.

Finally, we will discuss whether the package can be a real breakthrough in cutting red tape or if it only contains changes in homeopathic doses.

Speakers:

  • Karolina Mojzesowicz is the Deputy Head of the Data Protection Unit at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Justice and is involved in drafting the Digital Omnibus Package.
  • Anna Sophia Oberschelp de Meneses is Special Counsel in the Data Protection and Cybersecurity practice group at the Brussels office of the international law firm Covington. Anna advises companies on European data protection law and supports clients in coordinating international data privacy projects.
  • Dr. Moritz Hüsch is a partner in Covington's Frankfurt office and Co-Chair of Covington’s Technology Industry Group and Covington's Internet of Things (IoT) Group. His practice focuses on complex technology-based licensing agreements and collaborations, outsourcings, commercial agreements, e-commerce, m-commerce, as well as data protection and cybersecurity.
  • Wolfgang A. Maschek is the Head of the European Public Policy Practice at the Brussels office of the international law firm Covington. Wolfgang represents both private and public sector clients at the EU and national levels across various regulated industries and policy matters.
